(Thu 04 Sep 08) The Mazda Kiyora (the name means "clean and pure" in Japanese, we're told) will make its world debut at the Paris Show early next month.
Full details have not yet been revealed, but the Kiyora is basically a new kind of city car, designed to be as light as possible in the interests of high fuel economy, low CO2 emissions and "enhanced driving pleasure". It's powered by a new direct injection petrol engine which switches itself off when it's not needed (for example while sitting at traffic lights) thanks to Mazda's Smart Idle Stop System. Also at Paris will be the facelifted MX-5, along with new diesel versions - 1.6 and 2.0 respectively - of the Mazda2 and Mazda6. |
