(Tue 09 Sep 08) As previously mentioned, the second-generation Ford Ka - a close relative of the Fiat 500, which is built in the same factory in Poland - will make its world debut at next month's Paris Show.
A UK on-sale date has not yet been confirmed ("late 2008/early 2009" is Ford's current estimate), but when it does arrive the Ka will be available with two engines. One is a 68bhp 1.2-litre petrol unit is claimed to be 21% more economical than the ancient contraption fitted to the previous Ka, and the other is a 75bhp 1.3 turbo diesel which manages 67.2mpg on the combined cycle. The Ka will be sold in four trim levels, called Studio, Style, Style+ and Zetec, at prices which have yet to be confirmed. |
