More On The Citroen C3 Picasso

(Thu 11 Sep 08)

Citroen has revealed more details of its smallest MPV in the run-up to its world debut at the Paris Show next month.

Citroen C3 30 - Picasso.

As mentioned in a previous news story, the C3 Picasso will have a choice of four engines - two home-grown HDi turbo diesels producing 90bhp and 110bhp, plus 95bhp and 120bhp versions of the petrol unit co-developed by PSA Peugeot Citroen and BMW. The HDi 90 will be the most economical of these, and has an official CO2 rating of 125g/km.

The Picasso isn't short of load space. Luggage volume up to parcel shelf level with the rear seats up is 500 litres, while if you fold down the seats and are prepared to pack the thing up to the roof you've got 1506 litres to play with - figures which are roughly comparable to those of the Ford Focus estate.

Readers have been asking how much the C3 Picasso will cost, and the simple answer is that Citroen hasn't even confirmed prices for the French market yet, never mind the UK one. But it seems fair to expect that when the car reaches us next summer, at least one model in the range will be available for under £12,000.
