(Wed 24 Sep 08) Ten years after it was introduced, the Bentley Arnage luxury saloon is coming to the end of its production life, and Bentley is making sure its career will end on a climax by launching a Final Series version.
Only 150 examples of the Final Series, which makes its debut at the Paris Show next week, will be built. The car uses the 6.75-litre V8 engine, launched half a century ago and now producing 500bhp, and comes as standard with 20" five-spoke alloy wheels, a retractable "Flying B" bonnet mascot, twin exhaust tailpipes, various exterior styling tweaks, interior waistrails with inset chrome strip, drilled alloy pedals, two picnic tables and a rear cocktail cabinet, among much else. "For ten years, Arnage has enjoyed extraordinary success at the pinnacle of the luxury saloon market," says Bentley Chairman Dr Franz-Josef Paefgen. "The Final Series is a celebration of the Arnage era as Bentley prepares for the next generation of its flagship model." |
