| Land Rover Defender Goes Commercial | ||
|
(Thu 02 Apr 09) The Land Rover Defender 110 Station Wagon has been reclassified as a Light Commercial Vehicle if fitted with the Utility Pack which is available as an option with the standard, County and XS trim levels.
The Utility Pack is simple enough - it's simply a flat metal panel which replaces the Defender's rear side windows. Along with the over-1000kg payload, this means that the Defender Utility Wagon, as the vehicle is called if fitted with the Pack, qualifies from VAT reclaim (if used for commercial purposes), Benefit In Kind tax capped at £3000 and an LCV rate of Vehicle Excise Duty of £185 from May 1 this year. Prices for the Utility Wagon start at £23,970 including VAT, VED and £55 registration fee, or £20,874.78 not including the VAT. |
