(Wed 08 Apr 09) Nissan has confirmed that an open-topped Roadster version of the 370Z sports car will go on sale in the US from late summer, with a UK version due to follow a few months later.
The Roadster is mechanically identical to the Coupé but features a fabric-lined black cloth roof which can be raised and lowered in around 20 seconds with no human involvement other than the pressing of a button. The roof has a proper glass rear window which is larger than that of the previous 350Z Roadster. UK models will probably follow the Coupé line-up of standard, GT Pack and Ultimate, and are due to arrive here either at the end of this year or at the start of 2010. No prices have yet been confirmed, but the fact that the 350Z Roadster was £2000 more expensive than the Coupé is a reasonable guide, and suggests that the new car will cost between £29,000 and £34,000 depending on equipment levels. |
