(Mon 20 Apr 09) We would be the first to admit that it doesn't reveal very much, apart from a panoramic sunroof, but here nonetheless is the first official picture of the new Jaguar XJ saloon.
Further details will be announced when the car is formally unveiled in London on June 9, but Jaguar is saying that the XJ will be the first car to feature the next-generation aluminium body structure, that it will use a familiar range of engines including the three-litre V6 turbo diesel and the 510bhp supercharged petrol V8, and that as with the current car it will be available in standard and long-wheelbase forms. Pricing will be confirmed in June, which is also when Jaguar dealers will be able to start taking orders, though first deliveries are not expected to take place until early next year.
