(Thu 03 Dec 09) Alfa Romeo has reintroduced the name Giulietta, first used back in the 1950s, for a new model which will be formally unveiled at the Geneva Show next March.
The new Giulietta has close visual links with the smaller MiTo, and it shares that car's DNA system, which provides Dynamic, Normal and All-Weather modes for the engine, steering, Q2 electronic differential and stability control system. Intended to provide "sportiness and elegance", in Alfa Romeo's words, the Giulietta is also reasonably practical, with a luggage volume of 350 litres. It will be available with five engines - a 120bhp 1.4-litre petrol turbo, a 170bhp 1.4 MultiAir, 105bhp 1.6 and 170bhp 2.0 JTDM turbo diesels and, in the 1750 TBi, a range-topping 235bhp unit. Prices will be announced nearer the car's launch. Comment on this story on Facebook or Twitter. Alfa Romeo Gallery Previous: Nissan Cube Arrives In January Next: Top Nissan GT-R On Sale |
