(Fri 20 Oct 09) Saab has been part of the General Motors empire for many years now, but while GM is involved in trying to raise cash from the US Government the Swedish company's board has announced that it is to file for reorganisation as an independent business.
The idea is to get Saab to the point where it can apply for funding, from private and public sources, to operate on its own. Three new models (9-3X - pictured - 9-4X and 9-5) are already scheduled for launch over the next 18 months, but Saab will require financial help for engineer, tooling and other costs to bring them to market. |
