Volvo has released details of the revised S80 saloon, which is due to be unveiled at the Geneva Show next week and will go on sale in the UK this summer.

The changes are largely limited to the interior and exterior styling. The front end has a new grille with the larger Volvo logo which has been appearing on recent Volvos such as the XC60, and there's more chrome than there was before. Inside, the S80 gets aluminium-rimmed dials, a new design of steering wheel and a Silk Metal frame for the centre stack.

Petrol engines will still be offered, but in the UK at least the big interest is going to be in the diesels. From launch there will be three - a 175bhp single-turbo 2.4, a 205bhp twin-turbo 2.4 and, for the 57.6mpg DRIVe, a much less powerful 1.6-litre version which has a CO2 rating of just 129g/km.
