Vauxhall is throwing in a lot of deals to make the Corsa SXi more attractive to buy, including offering one year's free insurance.

The insurance deal applies to anyone up to the age of 80, but what's particularly special about it is that it also applies to drivers as young as 19, as long as they have held a full driving licence for at least two years. The other temptations are three year's 0% finance and free redundancy cover.

The SXi is available with a variety of engines, and is cheapest to run in ecoFLEX form because that model's 119g/km CO2 emissions put it VED Band C, which means you'll pay £35 in annual road tax now and £30 from next April onwards. The SXi comes as standard with 16" alloy wheels, sports-style front seats and a radio/CD player with MP3 capability and an aux-in socket. Prices start at £11,845 (minus £2000 if you have an eligible scrap vehicle to trade in) for the 1.2 petrol three-door.
