Jaguar Museum Relaunched

(Fri 17 Jul 09)

Jaguar's museum in Coventry has been relaunched following a restructuring of the organisation which runs it. The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust, founded in 1983, is now known as Jaguar Heritage, and the museum, which now has improved facilities and is open to the public for longer, has similarly been renamed as the Jaguar Heritage Museum.

Jaguar Heritage Museum.

Visitors will be able to feast their eyes on an extraordinary range of historic vehicles, including the Swallow sidecar with which Jaguar founder Sir William Lyons began his career, the first Jaguar-badged car (a 1937 SS saloon), the extraordinarily beautiful XJ13 intended for Le Mans but never actually raced, and the last V12 E-Type Series III two-seater, along with several Jaguar concept cars.

The museum is now open five days a week, and on the last Sunday of every month, and can be visited at reasonable price - a family ticket allowing entry to two adults and up to four children, for example, costs just £8.

If you don't happen to be within reach of Coventry, that doesn't mean you can't see the cars. Jaguar Heritage is continuing its policy of taking cars around the world for display, and in particular intends to have a larger presence at historic events in Europe and America.
