(Mon 08 Jun 09) As well as being set to become the saviour of Chrysler in North America, Fiat has reached an important milestone further south.
Fiat has been building cars and light commercial vehicles in Brazil since 1976, and the factory in Betim currently produces them at the rate of over 3000 per day. The grand total has just reached ten million, and you might not be surprised to learn that Fiat has been the best-selling brand in Brazil for each of the first five months of 2009, with a market share of 25.5% in May. |
