Skoda Fabia Scout

(Fri 19 Jun 09)

Skoda dealers in the UK are taking orders for the latest Scout model, based on the Fabia estate.

Skoda Fabia 73 - Scout.

Unlike other Scouts, the Fabia does not have four-wheel drive, but it does have protective body mouldings to help keep the paintwork safe in tight situations. Apart from that, the Scout's extra equipment is largely cosmetic, and includes 16" alloy wheels, silver roof rails and unique upholstery.

The rest of the Scout is based on the Fabia 2, but with the addition of cruise control, ESP, sunset glass, front and rear electric windows, some interior leather, alloy pedals and a front armrest.

There are three versions, starting with an 85bhp 1.4-litre petrol at £12,815. Then comes an 80bhp 1.4 TDI turbo diesel (the cheapest to run, with the best fuel economy and CO2 emissions of 120g/km, which puts it in VED Band C) at £13,695, and at the top of the range there's a 105bhp 1.9 TDI costing £14,380. Optional extras include a variable boot floor for £120 and 17" alloy wheels for £300.
