(Mon 29 Jun 09) Rather surprisingly - to say the least - Aston Martin has announced that it is developing a new city car (or "luxury commuter concept") based on the tiny Toyota iQ and named Cygnet.
The iQ is a world away from the models Aston currently sells, but Chief Executive Dr Ulrich Bez reckons that the Cygnet could be considered in the same terms as "an exclusive tender to a luxury yacht" by someone who already owns a DBS, DB9 or Vantage. The car pictured isn't a car at all but a clay model. Will something like it ever go into production? "Much work is still required," says Bez, "but I am confident that this project could become reality in the not too distant future." |
