(Wed 11 Mar 09) Proton is introducing a new range of GEN-2 models under the title of SE (or Special Edition). Apart from a little extra branding, they are exactly the same as normal GEN-2s, except that they're loaded with free extra equipment and services.
All of the SEs come with a five-year warranty and free metallic paint as standard. The hatchbacks get a 10-CD changer, the GLS SE hatch has three years' free servicing, and the GSX SE hatch and Persona SE saloon variant have leather upholstery (normally a £1000 option) thrown in for free. Proton is also trying to tempt buyers with 0% finance deals for up to two years and low-rate finance (typical 6.67% APR) for up to five years. The offers, available through participating dealers, last until June 30, and does not apply to fleet or Motability sales. |
