(Fri 27 Mar 09) Fiat has confirmed that the convertible version of the 500 will be priced from £11,300 when it goes on sale this summer.
British enthusiasm for cars with removable tops is so well-known that the 500 C will actually be available here earlier than in any other European country, including even Italy. The base model is the 69bhp 1.2-litre petrol-engined Pop, which comes with air-conditioning, remote central locking, a radio/CD/MP3 player, seven airbags and electric door mirrors, and can also be specified with a 100bhp 1.4-litre petrol engine and the 75bhp 1.3 turbo diesel. The same engine line-up is also being supplied with the more expensive Lounge, which gets climate control air-conditioning, ESP, foglights and rear parking sensors as standard. The extra equipment adds £1400 to the price, and the top model in the range (which does not at this stage include a convertible version of the Abarth) is the 1.3 diesel Lounge at £14,100. |
