Saab 9-3 Turbo Edition

(Fri 01 May 09)

Saab has introduced a new Turbo Edition model to its 9-3 range of saloons and estate cars. On sale now, the Turbo Edition features 17" alloy wheels as standard, along with leather upholstery, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control air-conditioning, cruise control and a nine-speaker 150W audio system with MP3 compatibility.

Saab 9-3 63 - Turbo Edition.

There are four engines (all of them turbocharged, naturally) and they start with a 1.8 petrol unit and a 118bhp 1.9-litre turbo diesel. The remaining pair - a 148bhp 1.9 TiD and a twin-turbo 178bhp version - are part of Saab's revised EcoPower range, and they both have improved combined economy and CO2 emissions figures of 54.3mpg/137g/km and 53.3mpg/139g/km respectively. (That's for the saloons - the heavier SportWagon estates fare less well, but only marginally.)

With engines in the order mentioned, the saloons cost £19,995, £20,495, £20,995 and £22,495. For SportWagon prices, add the rather curious sum of £1081.60 to these prices.
