(Thu 14 May 09) The sixth-generation Vauxhall Astra will make its world debut at the Frankfurt Show in September, and will go on sale in the UK before the end of this year.
The new Astra will be launched in five-door hatchback form with a choice of eight engines, the most significant being a new 1.4-litre petrol turbo designed to provide a combination of impressive official fuel economy and CO2 figures along with decent performance (see our feature on The Rise Of The Small Engine for how this works).
