(Fri 22 May 09) Volkswagen's UK dealers will start taking orders for the new Golf Estate in October, and the first cars are due to arrive here early next year.
Largely unchanged from the current model, the new estate features new headlights and bumpers to bring it line with the design of the current Scirocco, Golf and Polo. There will be three trim levels, called S, SE and Sportline, and all versions will have air-conditioning, a CD player, a multifunction computer, electric windows and mirrors and body-coloured bumpers, mirrors and doorhandles as standard. Engines include a 120bhp 1.4-litre petrol turbo, a 104bhp 1.6 TDI turbo diesel and, at the top of the range, a 2.0 TDI producing a maximum of 138bhp. The line-up will also include a high-economy, low-CO2 BlueMotion model. |
