Electric Renaults For Production

(Mon 09 Nov 09)

Renault has confirmed that it will start building three electric models at different factories in western Europe before the end of 2012.

Renault Twizy ZE 01.

The latest news is that the Maubeuge plant in northern France, which already produces all petrol- and diesel-engined versions of the Kangoo van/MPV, will add an electric van in the first half of 2011. In the same year, a city car derived from the tiny Twizy ZE concept displayed at the Frankfurt Show will go into production at Valladolid in Spain, while in 2012 the Flins factory (one of Renault's oldest, dating back to 1952, and now the home of the Clio) will build a car based on the Zoe ZE, which also appeared in concept form at Frankfurt.

More information about the electric Renault concepts at Frankfurt can be found in our previous news story.
