Maserati's first-ever four-seat convertible, the GranCabrio, is available to order now, priced at £95,630, and first UK deliveries are expected in April 2010.

While making this announcement, Maserati has repeated its catchphrase - rather a good one, we think - that the rear passengers in the GranCabrio are "not merely supporting actors, but co-stars of the journey". The company has certainly gone to some effort to ensure that four adults can be seated comfortably, and it has also paid attention to their need to carry luggage: a four-piece leather luggage set, designed to fit perfectly in the boot, is one of the great number of optional extras available for the car.

The GranCabrio is powered by the familiar 440bhp 4.7-litre V8 petrol engine, which gives it a top speed of 175mph and a 0-62mph time of 5.4 seconds.
