Bentley Continental Series 51

(Fri 11 Sep 09)

Bentley has created a new range of off-the-peg styling enhancements for the Continental GT and GTC models. They come under the heading of Series 51, which refers to 1951, the year that John Blatchely established Bentley's first official styling department.

The first demonstration of what Series 51 offers is a Continental GTC (pictured) which has been worked on by Bentley's Colour and Trim team, under the management of Melinda-June Jenkins, and will be displayed at the Frankfurt Show next week. From the outside the car's most obvious new feature is the 20" 14-spoke polished Diamond alloy wheels, though Continental owners can also specify a two-tone colour scheme with one shade covering the bonnet, roof and boot.

Most of the differences, however, are inside. The Frankfurt car has Imperial Blue main and secondary leather upholstery, Linen (colour, not material) seat and door inserts and Newmarket Tan accents. Other three-tone interior arrangements have also been created and are available to order.
