(Fri 18 Sep 09) Yet more news from Lexus at the Frankfurt Show concerns the GS450h hybrid saloon, which is being updated for the 2010 model year.
Exterior changes are subtle, being limited to a new grille, new rear lights clusters, new 18" alloy wheels for the long-wheelbase L model and three extra colours (Vanilla Mist, Richmond Green and Atlantic Blue), bringing the total to eleven. As with other Lexus products, the GS now comes with a 40GB hard disk navigation system giving coverage (including traffic information) across Europe. There's also a choice of two audio systems, the more expensive being a 14-speaker Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound System. Both come with Bluetooth connectivity, a DAB function, USB and audio jack plug connections and the ability to store up to 10GB worth of music files. The Pre-Crash Safety system has been revised, and includes active headrests which provide whiplash protection in the event of a rear-end impact. UK pricing and availability will be confirmed "later".
