(Fri 05 Feb 10) Forty years ago the Datsun 240Z sports coupé went of sale for the first time, and to mark the passage of four decades since then the company now known as Nissan has created an anniversary edition of its current Z car, the 370Z.
The 370Z Black Edition comes with a choice of black or quartz colour schemes, both using Nissan's self-healing Scratch Shield paint, along with dark grey 19" RAYS alloy wheels, red brake calipers, red leather upholstery, the Nissan Connect Premium audio/satellite navigation system and various 40th Anniversary emblems. Just 370 examples - all Coupés, no Roadsters - will be made available for sale in Europe (award yourself one bonus point if you can see why, or minus 370 if you can't) and they will be priced from £33,645 for the manual-transmission model and £35,045 for the automatic. These prices include the £750 first-year VED tax which comes into force on April 1, shortly before the first Black Edition models arrive at Nissan High Performance Centres.
