(Fri 12 Feb 10) The rush among manufacturers to give details about cars they will be unveiling at next months' Geneva Show continues with news about Citroen's DS High Rider concept.
Clearly a close relative of the forthcoming DS3, the High Rider is a coupé, but at 4.26 metres in length a relatively squat one. Citroen says it also has "a generous amount of interior space", which is not typical of coupés either. The Higher Rider is unlike any current production car in that it's a diesel hybrid, with an HDi engine driving the front wheels and an electric motor driving the rears (either instead of or as well as the engine, depending on whether economy or performance is the priority). This is not fanciful stuff, though, since PSA Peugeot Citroen will have a Peugeot 3008-based diesel hybrid in the showrooms in the not too distant future.
