(Mon 22 Feb 10) Jeep has tinkered around with the Patriot range for 2010. There are now five models - the cheapest costing just under £14,000 - offering a choice of two engines, three gearboxes and three trim levels.
The engines, both familiar, are a 138bhp two-litre turbo diesel and a 168bhp 2.4-litre petrol. Both are available in Sport and Limited specifications, though the petrol also comes in Sport+ form, which includes front foglights, cruise control, a deep-tint windscreen, a leather-trimmed steering wheel with audio controls and a uconnect phone with Bluetooth connectivity and voice command, none of which is standard on the Sport. Petrol models generally come with a five-speed manual gearbox, while the diesels get a six-speed. The exception is the 2.4 petrol Limited, which gets a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). Prices start at £13,995 for the 2.4 Sport and rise to £18,995 for the diesel Limited.
