(Mon 22 Feb 10) In its six years of existence, the Maserati Quattroporte has received 56 awards from automotive and lifestyle magazines across 14 countries. Maserati is not being shy about this, and has in fact created a new version of the car specifically to celebrate it.
The Quattroporte Awards Edition, which will be formally unveiled during next month's Geneva Show, is based on the Quattroporte Sport GT S, but there are several enhancements. The most immediately noticeable is the Quarzo fuso paintwork, a pearlescent metallic grey with a touch of gold. Also clearly evident are the satin-finished 20" Trident dark grey wheels, through which are visible Brembo hand-finished polished brake calipers. Inside, the seats are upholstered in Poltrona Frau leather and alcantara, with alcantara also being used for the headlining. Piano Black satin-finished wood mouldings are also used inside the car, while the door sills are of brushed aluminium. The Awards Edition will be available in the UK as a special order in the second half of 2010. Prices will be revealed on application to Maserati dealers. Comment on this story on Facebook or Twitter.
