(Mon 04 Jan 10) Having previously done so only for its Europe-built products such as the cee'd and Sportage, Kia is now offering a seven-year warranty on all its products to customers in the UK.
This doesn't mean that every single part of the car is covered for seven years. The paintwork warranty depends on the individual model, but generally it's covered for five years, while the audio system is covered for three and service parts, accessories and batteries for two. "Wear and tear" items such as tyres, brake pads and clutch linings are not covered at all, though that's common practice. But the seven-year warranty for everything else is remarkable, and unmatched by any other manufacturer across a full range. Comment on this story on Facebook or Twitter.
