(Mon 18 Jan 10) BMW has been doing a lot of work on the various models in the 3-Series range, and the results will become available when the new cars go on sale in the UK on March 20.
The Coupé and Convertible, which together account for one-third of 3-Series sales in this country, have been mildly restyled with new wheels, lights and front and rear valances, among other things. There's also a new front spoiler for the M Sport models, which can additionally be specified in a new colour called Mineral White. All 3-Series models, including the saloon and Touring, are also available with new engines for the 320d, 325d, 335i and 335d, all of them boasting better fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions. None of these, however, can match the 68.9mpg and 109g/km of the 320d EfficientDynamics saloon, which gets the usual low-CO2 modifications of higher gearing, lower ride height, low-rolling resistance tyres and aerodynamic wheels, but unusually does not cost more than the standard 320d. |
