(Wed 03 Mar 10) Toyota describes the RAV4 on display at the Geneva Show as its 2010 model, and so it is. But mechanically the car is identical to the RAV4 you can buy right now. This is more a question of a facelift.
The idea behind it is largely to bring the RAV4's design into line with that of current models such as the Auris, Verso and Avensis. This has been achieved by replacing the bonnet, front bumper, grille (wider than before) and headlights. Inside there's new alcantara and leather upholstery, but the choice of powertrains remains the same as before, with 2.0 petrol and 2.2 turbo diesels and six-speed manual, six-speed automatic or Multidrive S CVT transmissions. The "new" RAV4 will go on sale in the UK in the spring - so quite soon, then - at prices which have yet to be confirmed. Comment on this story on Facebook or Twitter. |
