(Mon 08 Mar 10) Skoda has confirmed the prices of the new-look Fabia and Roomster ranges which have been displayed at the Geneva Show.
Including Road Fund Licence at the rate which will be introduced on April 1, two of the Fabia hatchbacks cost less than £10,000: the 60bhp 1.2 petrol in its most basic form (with no named trim level) comes in at £9330, while an extra £630 will buy you more or less the same car but with a 70bhp engine of similar size. There are also S, SE and Elegance versions, and the top model is the 105bhp 1.6 TDI CR turbo diesel, which costs £14,100. Despite that, it's the equal cheapest in the range to tax, since all Fabias either either this engine or its 90bhp equivalent have an official CO2 rating of 109g/km. The least powerful engine isn't available in the Fabia estate, so prices start at £10,425 for the most basic 70bhp 1.2 petrol version. In this range, legance is the best-equipped trim level but not quite the most expensive, since are also five semi-off-road Scout versions. The ultimate Fabia estate, at least in terms of price, is the £14,930 Scout 105bhp 1.6 TDI. There is no Elegance form of the Roomster. Instead, the range extends from the 70bhp 1.2 S at £11,260 to the 105bhp 1.6 TDI Scout at £15,380. Other engines not mentioned so far are 80bhp and 105bhp versions of the new 1.2 TSI petrol turbo, the latter optionally available with a seven-speed DSG semi-automatic gearbox. |
