(Thu 18 Mar 10) The CARkeys opinion about the Lexus LS 600h hybrid limousine is that there has never been much wrong with it, but Lexus has nevertheless introduced a few improvements.
There's a new grille, new front and rear bumpers and some minor interior updating, but more significantly Lexus has collaborated with Brembo to improve the braking performance by a quoted 12.5%. The advanced headlight system now switches between low and high beams automatically, according to the presence of street lighting and whether or not there is any traffic ahead, while the satellite navigation system gets a 40GB hard drive and 10GB worth of storage space for music files. The version we tested some time ago was fitted with the Rear Seat Relaxation package, which at the time was available only on four-seat models but can now also be specified on five-seat cars. All versions also come with a Rear Seat Upgrade, including four-zone climate control, a multi-function rear centre armrest with through-hatch into the boot, rear side airbags, electric sunshades on the rear doors, roof-mounted air conditioning diffusers and electrically adjustable rear seats with memory settings, lumbar massage and integrated air-conditioning.
