Chevrolet Cruze Hatchback

Since the Cruze was introduced in mid-2009, Chevrolet has always acknowledged that its UK sales were not going to be helped by the fact that it was available only in saloon form. It must therefore come as something of a relief to the brand's British staff that a hatchback version is now on its way.

It's going to make its debut at the forthcoming Paris Motor Show, and although its normal luggage volume is under 400 litres, compared with 450 litres for the saloon, it has the obvious hatchback benefit of folding rear seats which allow for a far greater capacity.

The Cruze hatchback will go on sale at the beginning of the year. Pricing will be announced nearer the time.
