Ford B-MAX Nearing Production

The Ford B-MAX compact SUV made its first appearance as a concept at the Geneva Show last March, and will return there in production-ready form a year later.

Ford claims class-leading load space for the new model, and is emphasising the cleverness of the doors, which open very wide and carry their own pillars, to give a combination of easy access when they're open and body strength when they're shut.

The range of engines will include the one-litre petrol turbo EcoBoost unit which by then will already have become available in the Focus (see separate story) plus a range of turbo diesels.

The B-MAX is due to go on sale in the UK in September.
