Honda At Geneva
(Monday 6 February 2012)

The concept version of the forthcoming NSX supercar (pictured) will probably be the most exciting thing on Honda's stand at the Geneva Show next month, but it won't be the most important. The most important will almost certainly be the first engine in Honda's new Earth Dreams Technology series.
It's a 1.6-litre turbo diesel which produces 118bhp and is, according to Honda, the lightest engine in its class. A version of the <new Civic> using this unit will go on sale later this year and provide CO2 emissions in the important sub-100g/km region. Other Earth Dreams Technology engines are due to go into production over the next three years.
Other Hondas at Geneva will include a prototype version of the CR-V due to go on sale in the autumn, the EV-STER electric two-seat sports car, a 1.2-litre petrol Jazz with start/stop which will become available to order in the spring and another Jazz - the Si - with a sports suspension package and revised interior and exterior styling which will go on sale in the summer.
