(Fri 21 May 10) Renault has become the latest manufacturer to dip below the 100g/km CO2 barrier with a mainstream product. The Clio eco2 dCi 86 is to be sold in four forms - Extreme three-door and Expression five-door, with or without air-conditioning - and in all four it has a CO2 rating of 98g/km, which means it's exempt from annual VED payments.
Other low-CO2 models are generally more expensive than the cars on which they're based, but Renault has kept the premium down to zero. Prices therefore range from £12,690 for the Extreme to £13,855 for the Expression with air-conditioning. Renault dealers are able to accept orders now. |
