McLaren P1 Concept At Paris
(Tuesday 18 September 2012)

McLaren Automotive will be using its first ever international show appearance in Paris next week to reveal a design study for a car it intends to have in production within 12 months.
Few details are being given at the moment, but the objective is clear. "Our aim," says managing director Antony Sheriff, "is not necessarily to be the fastest in absolute top speed but to be the quickest and most rewarding series production road car on a circuit. It is the true test of a supercar's all-round ability and a much more important technical statement.
"Our goal is to make the McLaren P1 the most exciting, most capable, most technologically advanced and most dynamically accomplished supercar ever made."
The P1 is described by the company as sitting above the MP4-12C "in terms of both price and performance". Speculatively, that would suggest a power output of 650bhp or more, a top speed of perhaps 220mph and a price tag in the region of £250,000.
