MINI John Cooper Works Countryman

(Monday 10 September 2012)

MINI John Cooper Works Countryman.

MINI has combined the nearest thing it has to an SUV with its high-performance sub-brand to create a John Cooper Works version of the Countryman.

This is the first JCW model to feature four-wheel drive, and the first with five doors. It uses the familiar 1.6-litre turbo petrol engine in 218bhp form and has a 0-62mph time of seven seconds, with uprated brakes and suspension (stiffer springs, dampers and anti-roll bars, plus a 10mm drop in ride height) to suit.

With a six-speed manual gearbox and 18" wheels, the John Cooper Works Countryman will cost £28,595 in the UK. A six-speed Steptronic automatic and 19" wheels are available as extra-cost options, as are the body stripes shown in our picture.
