MINI John Cooper Works GP

MINI has unveiled its fastest production car yet at the MINI United festival in France. Full details have yet to be officially confirmed, but the John Cooper Works GP has had a lot of work done on its engine and aerodynamics, and is said to have completed a lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit in 8 minutes 23 seconds. The previous hottest MINI - the Cooper S with John Cooper Works GP kit - did the same thing in 8 minutes 42 seconds.

Production of the new car will start later this year. It will stop again shortly afterwards, as MINI intends to build only 2000 examples.
