More London Special Edition MINIs
(Friday 20 January 2012)

MINI has unveiled the latest two models in its series of London-themed special editions. The MINI Baker Street and MINI Bayswater both go on sale on March 1, priced from £16,365 and £18,565.
The Baker Street (pictured below right) comes in One, One D, Cooper and Cooper D forms. It's painted in Rooftop Grey metallic - though Pepper White and Midnight Black are available as options - with V-shaped black bonnet stripes and, in the case of the Cooper and Cooper D, a black roof. The 16" alloy wheels are gloss black, as are the door mirror caps.
Rooftop Grey is also the colour of the interior trim, and there's contrasting grey stitching on the floor mats, gearstick and handbrake gaiter.
The Pepper Pack, normally an option on MINIs, is standard on the Baker Street, which therefore has automatic air-conditioning, Bluetooth connectivity, a trip computer, leather steering wheel, front foglights, an interior lighting package with a choice of colour and front passenger seat height adjustment. Prices range from £16,365 for the One to £19,945 for the Cooper D with automatic transmission.
The Bayswater (pictured above) has more equipment and a higher average power output, being offered in Cooper, Cooper S and the diesel Cooper D and SD forms. Painted in Kite Blue metallic (grey or black metallic are options on the Cooper S and SD), it's also the only MINI fitted with 17" Sandblast alloy wheels.
Features normally offered as options in the Chrome Line and Chili packages are standard in the Bayswater, which costs between £18,565, for the Cooper, and £23,375, for the Cooper SD automatic.
The arrival of these models marks the end of two previous special editions, the Pimlico and Soho. The Soho will live on to some extent, though, in that its exclusive White Silver metallic paint will now be available on Cooper-branded versions of the MINI hatch.
Two more special MINIs - the London 2012 edition, priced from £17,980, and the £41,000 Inspired By Goodwood model with input from Rolls-Royce - are about to start production. And, on a more prosaic note, run-flat tyres will be available as an option on all Countryman ALL4 models built from March this year.
