More Powerful Audi A6 and A7 Diesels
(Tuesday 31 January 2012)

Audi is introducing its most powerful V6 diesel engine yet to the A6 and A7 ranges. The three-litre twin-turbo unit produces a maximum of 309bhp, which gives the A6 Saloon a 0-62mph time of 5.1 seconds, while the similarly-powered A6 Avant and A7 Sportback manage the same run in 5.3 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 155mph in each case.
All models have quattro four-wheel drive and an eight-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox, and share the same 44.1mpg combined fuel economy and 169g/km CO2 rating. They are also all available in SE and sportier S line trim levels. The A6 allroad quattro, which becomes available to order in the UK in February, is also being offered with this engine and transmission.
Prices start at £43,810 for the A6 saloon SE and rise to £53,435 for the A7 Sportback S line.
