More Tech For Audi A6 And A7

(Thursday 26 January 2012)

Audi A6.

Audi has created a new option called Technology Package Advanced for selected A6 and A7 models. Among many other things, it includes a satellite navigation system which allows you to draw letters or numbers on the touchscreen with your fingertip, though you can also take advantage of its voice recognition if you prefer.

There's also the higher of the two Bluetooth mobile phone preparation set-ups offered by Audi, this one allowing access to Google Earth maps and turning the whole car into a wi-fi hotspot allowing up to eight devices to be connected to the internet. The Audi Music Interface iPod connection is included too.

On the safety side, Technology Package Advanced also incorporates adaptive cruise control, a blind spot warning system and active lane assist.

The package is available on any A6 saloon, Avant or allroad with a six-cylinder engine and automatic transmission, priced at £3250. Everything in it is already on the A6 options list, but if you were to spec-up your car that way it would cost £4135.

For the A7 Sportback (all versions of which are six-cylinder automatics) the package also contains a head-up display. This brings the price up to £3750, or £1135 less than it would cost to choose all the features as options.
