Nissan Thinks Electric
(Thursday 9 September 2010)

As well as displaying its new all-electric Leaf, which goes on sale early next year, Nissan will be using the Paris Motor Show to unveil an electric concept called the Townpod.
The picture above, which is all Nissan has released so far, shows one of the headlights rather than the whole vehicle, though we did wonder about that for a second. The Townpod is a cross between a car and a van, and according to Nissan it is "designed to offer zero-emissions mobility to a future generation of home-based, innovative entrepreneurs who are creative and tech-savvy". Downing another couple of shots of espresso, Nissan adds that the Townpod "heralds a new-era of flexible, stylish vehicles that will bring electric-vehicle mobility to the masses".
Other Nissan highlights at Paris will include the new Micra (whose line-up will include a supercharged 1.2-litre petrol engine with official CO2 emissions of 95g/km), the Juke crossover and a restyled and more economical version of the X-Trail.
