Renault Clio UK Pricing

(Monday 8 October 2012)

Renault Clio.

The fourth-generation Renault Clio will be available to order from UK dealers on November 1 and will arrive in showrooms at the beginning of February, priced from £10,595.

The base model is the Expression, which comes with only the familiar, but revised, 75bhp 1.2-litre petrol engine. It's the only Clio fitted with steel wheels, but it's not as basic as it might be, featuring cruise control, a speed limiter, daytime running lights, Hill Start Assist, electric front windows and door mirrors, keyless entry and ignition and a radio with Bluetooth and USB connection.

One up from the Expression is the Expression+, which is basically the same thing expect that it has 16" alloy wheels, front foglights and air-conditioning, and gets the new 0.9-litre three-cylinder TCe turbo petrol engine and the 1.5-litre dCi turbo diesel. In standard form these have "green" figures of 62.8mpg and 105g/km (petrol) and 83.1mpg and 93g/km (diesel) but in modified ECO form the stats improve to 65.7mpg and 99g/km (petrol) and 88.3mpg and 83g/km (diesel).

The extra equipment adds £1400 to the cost of the 1.2, bringing it to £11,995. The TCe and dCi cost £12,995 and £14,095 normally, or £13,245 and £14,345 in ECO form.

Mechanically identical to the Expression+, the Dynamique MediaNav has various interior and exterior upgrades, plus automatic headlights and wipers, satellite navigation with a 7" touchscreen and an Arkamys radio with remote controls mounted on the leather steering wheel. It costs £1000 more than the Expression+ and is expected to be the top-seller in the UK.

Until the GT Line and Renaultsport versions come along later in 2013, the top model will be the Dynamique S MediaNav, which gets 17" alloy wheels, chrome side window surrounds, a central armrest, folding door mirrors, electric rear windows, gloss black interior doorhandles and rear parking sensors. It's available only with the TCe and dCi engines (though not in ECO form) priced at £14,995 and £16,095 respectively.

Further technical details were revealed in the news story we published back in July. Here it is.
