(Tue 25 May 10) The new Coupé-Cabriolet version of the Renault Megane will be available to order from UK dealers on June 4 and will start to appear in showrooms from July 9.
There are six cars in the range, all of which have a folding glass top. Dynamique TomTom versions come as standard with 17" alloy wheels, a radio/CD with Aux input and Bluetooth connectivity, air-conditioning, automatic headlights and wipers, cruise control, a wind deflector, a hands-free keycard, a speed limiter and a fully integrated Carminat TomTom satellite navigation system. The GT looks slightly sportier, partly because of its 18" wheels and partly thanks to some body styling tweaks including a rear diffuser. It also has extra equipment in the form of sports seats, rear parking sensors and electric folding door mirrors. Unusually, the two trim levels have their own quite distinct engine line-ups. The Dynamique TomTom gives customers the choice of a 130bhp 1.4-litre petrol engine, a 140bhp two-litre with CVT automatic transmission, a 110bhp 1.5 dCi diesel with a twin-clutch semi-automatic gearbox (known as EDC) and a 130bhp 1.9 diesel. The 1.5 dCi EDC model has by far the best combined economy and CO2 emissions, at 56.5mpg and 149g/km respectively. None of these engines is available in the GT, which instead comes with either a 180bhp two-litre petrol engine or a 160bhp diesel of the same size. Manual transmission is standard in each case. Prices range from £21,595 for the 1.4 Dynamique TomTom to £25,830 for the diesel GT. To add to the list of possibilities, Dynamique TomTom models can also be specified with a GT Line pack (consisting of a different wheel design, electric folding door mirrors, rear parking sensors, sportier-looking bumpers and the same interior as the GT) for an extra £1290. |
