SEAT Toledo UK Details
(Thursday 4 October 2012)

On the day that it was able to claim September 2012 as its most successful month in 27 years of selling cars in the UK (a record 7739 units having been registered), SEAT has released full details of the new Toledo five-door hatchback.
The starting price is an impressively low £12,495, though this applies to a version that doesn't bear much resemblance to anything else in the range. For a start, it's the only Toledo fitted with a 74bhp 1.2-litre petrol engine, and it's also the only one in the most basic E trim level, which doesn't include alloy wheels, rear electric windows or a rear wiper.
The mid-range S is fairly basic too, but it does come with a rear wiper, plus air-conditioning, Bluetooth connectivity, a USB port, remote audio controls, a trip computer, split-folding rear seats, an alarm and remote central locking.
There are three engines to choose from - 84bhp and 104bhp versions of the 1.2 TSI engine and, for the Ecomotive, a 104bhp 1.6 TDI turbo diesel which, thanks to brake energy recovery and a start/stop system, provides the best fuel economy and CO2 emissions of the range at 72.4mpg and 104g/km respectively.
The range-topping SE comes with the more powerful 1.2 TSI engine, the 1.6 diesel (in Ecomotive or cheaper non-Ecomotive forms, neither of which matches the "green" figures of the S) or a 122bhp 1.4 TSI available only with a twin-clutch semi-automatic DSG transmission.
Standard equipment on the SE includes 16" alloy wheels, cornering front foglights, climate control, cruise control, a refrigerated glovebox, rear electric windows, front and rear armrests, a height-adjustable front passenger seat, leather trim for the steering wheel and gearknob and extra storage compartments in the boot.
Apart from the 1.2 E mentioned above, the cheapest Toledo is the 84bhp 1.2 TSI S at £14,120. At the other end of the price range sits the £17,840 SE Ecomotive, closely followed by the £17,780 1.4 TSI.
There's more equipment if you want it. Larger wheels, rear parking sensors, satellite navigation, DAB digital radio, Bluetooth audio streaming, Hill Hold Control, heated front seats, tinted rear windows and a detachable towbar are all available, but only as extra-cost options.
UK SEAT dealers are able to take orders now, and first customer deliveries are expected to take place on December 1.
