Special Edition Range Rovers
(Monday 6 February 2012)

Now in its tenth year, the current-generation Range Rover is having three new special models added to its line-up. The Westminster Edition replaces both the Vogue and the Vogue SE, and can be identified from the outside by the bright finish on the front grille and side vents, the silver lower splitter bar and foglight bezels, the 20" ten-spoke alloy wheels and, of course, the Westminster badging.
Inside, the Westminster has heated and cooled front seats, a 19-speaker 1200W harman/kardon Logic7 audio system, the clever Dual View infotainment screen, illuminated door sill treadplates, some Grand Black lacquer trim and brightly-finished pedals.
Available only with the 4.4-litre TDV8 turbo diesel engine and eight-speed automatic transmission, the Westminster will go on sale in March, priced £69,995.
The other two new models are both called Autobiography, and differ only in that one of them has the same engine and gearbox as the Westminster while the other has the five-litre supercharged V8 petrol engine and a six-speed automatic.
In each case, the Autobiography is fitted with the Design and Seat Style options packages. The former consists of new front and rear bumpers, side skirts, stainless steel exhaust tailpipes, 20" Shadow Chrome alloy wheels and a silver finish for the grille, side vents and foglight surrounds.
The Seat Style pack is aimed largely at rear passengers, who get heated and cooled seats with recline and lumbar adjustment, plus multi-adjustable aircraft-style headrests. The front passenger seat - which has a three-position memory function - can, if nobody is using it, be pushed well forward to release extra headroom for whoever is sitting behind it.
The Autobiography models, like the Westminster, go on sale next month, priced at £84,295 for the TDV8 and £86,895 for the Supercharged.
