Toyota Yaris Specials
(Wednesday 8 August 2012)
Two new versions of the Toyota Yaris, intended to be more stylish in their own ways than the rest of the range, have gone on sale today.
The cheaper one is called the Edition. It's based on the one-litre T2 but has several non-T2 features including 15" anthracite alloy wheels, front foglights, more chrome exterior rear trim than usual, a revcounter and a leather-trimmed gearknob.
One step up from that is the Trend, which is basically a 1.33-litre Yaris SR with 16" versions of the Edition's wheels and chrome tailpipe trim. Like the Edition, it also has privacy glass and blacked-out rear pillars, and comes in a choice of Tyrol Silver or Cirrus White paintwork.
In three-door form the Edition costs £11,695, the Trend £13,795. Five-door equivalents cost an extra £600 in each case, and although manual transmission is the norm the five-door Trend is also available with CVT automatic transmission for a further £1000, bringing its price up to £15,395.
Manual air-conditioning is an optional extra for the Edition, while the Edition can be specified with the Toyota Touch & Go multimedia system, which includes satellite navigation.
