Vauxhall Astra VXR To Star At Geneva
(Wednesday 8 February 2012)

Next month's Geneva Show will see the world debut of the most powerful production Astra that Vauxhall has ever devised. Based on the GTC coupé, it has a two-litre turbo petrol engine which produces a maximum of 276bhp (all of it directed through the front wheels) and gives the car a top speed of 155mph.
Brembo has put together a brake package specific to the car, there's a proper mechanical - as opposed to electronic - limited slip differential, and the clever FlexRide adaptive damping system is fitted as standard, in this case with an extra mode called, reasonably enough, VXR and designed to make the car even racier than it would normally be in Sport.
Also making their debuts at Geneva will be the Mokka compact SUV (for more details of which see our separate story), the already-on-sale Insignia twin-turbo diesel and, on a different note altogether, the RAD e electric bike.
